From Indonesia’s Forests to Your Trailer Production
February 25, 2025Since 1993, forest management in Indonesia has been well integrated through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification. This system ensures that timber harvested from forests is managed according to sustainability principles. Each harvested log is certified and has clear data regarding its origin and processing. The harvested logs are then transported by barge to their destination port. The barge transport process heavily depends on weather conditions. Under favorable weather, the barge can reach the port in approximately seven days. However, in poor weather conditions, transportation can take much longer up to more than a month.
After its sea journey, the barge arrives at the designated port, where the next step involves unloading the logs using a log trailer, a process that takes about 5-6 days. Once at the factory, the logs undergo a processing stage that can take up to three months, whereas the processing of sawn timber requires only two months. The longest step in this process is wood drying, a crucial phase to ensure the moisture content meets the requirements of the destination country.
Commitment to Sustainable Timber Supply
Given the lengthy and complex production process of trailer flooring, we recognize the importance of maintaining a sustainable supply of high-quality timber. From the forest to the finished product, every step requires special attention to ensure not only product quality but also environmental sustainability and timely delivery.
We are committed to ensuring a continuous product supply through various strategic efforts. This includes strict monitoring of our entire supply chain, from responsible logging to processing and final product distribution. At every stage, we consistently apply sustainability principles by utilizing modern technology and industry best practices.
Beyond ensuring product availability in domestic and international markets, the presence of Terradeck LLC in Fort Worth, Texas, is expected to be a strategic step in expanding our reach and improving the efficiency of our product distribution across North America. We believe that by combining a commitment to sustainability, technological innovation, and effective logistics management, we can continue to meet market demands while contributing to environmental conservation.
